A beautiful 350-square-metre, architect-designed, better-built dream house is now the home of the Ellingsgaard Baastrup family. Although returning home to Haderslev was not in their plans, Lise and Andreas simply fell for the house of their dreams in Haderslev.
What has moving back to Haderslev been like?
Andreas (31): “We used to have an apartment in Copenhagen NW, and now we have a big house and help from the community here in Haderslev. We were nervous about what moving to Haderslev would be like, but there are many who have done the same as us, so we definitely feel at home.”
Lise (30): “We have been quite surprised at how easy it has been to find work. You can easily make a career here. I am a trained geographer and am employed in Aabenraa municipality. Andreas is a commercial lawyer and works as a team leader at Energinet in Fredericia.”
Are there any other things that also surprised you in connection with the move?
Andreas: “It is also an advantage that the cost of living is not as high, but wages are largely the same.”
Lise: “Another advantage is that there is no waiting list for anything, and we have had good help from the municipality.”
